Is it water-based? Will it wash out easily?

Yes. The Original Pomade is water-based and water-soluble, so it rinses out in one shower. You won't be scrubbing through three rounds of shampoo to get it out.

How much should I use, and how long does a jar last?

Start with a fingertip-sized amount. Rub it between your palms until it warms up, then work it through slightly damp or dry hair from back to front. Add more only if you need it. Most guys get a lot of uses out of a 4 oz jar because a little goes a long way
